Training Mission
Clear Water Legacy offers a growing selection of training curricula that have been created with the water distribution system field operator, and his manager, and the water department in mind.
Mr. Thomas has drawn from his considerable multi-role experience in the discipline of municipal water distribution to include special insights and observations throughout the seminar material.
From labourer to construction leadhand, valve specialist to hydrant repairman, from system investigator to supervisor, and finally as Manager of Water Distribution for the City of Hamilton, Ontario, Mr. Thomas has ‘done the work’, and is uniquely qualified to describe the realities of water distribution.
The goal of a Clear Water Legacy seminar is to instill confidence in the field operator.
Specific situational training, combined with exposure to broader distribution system concepts, are intended to accelerate the skill levels of field personnel.
As operator skill and knowledge increases, so will the ability to make correct system decisions and interpretations, much to the satisfaction of supervisors, the water department, and the public at large.
A knowledgeable water worker, comfortable in his/her role, and proud of his/her contribution, will be a valued defender of water quality, and a trusted steward of the distribution system.
